Overview
This test will screen products for microbiological contaminants like yeast and mold, which can be harmful to human health. The analysis will provide the exact presence and concentration of each contaminant detected. The presence of various bacteria and pathogens must be shown to be below the allowable limit of colony forming units per gram or not present in any amount depending on the organism’s suitability for human consumption.
Why would I need this test?
Microbiological organisms are present almost everywhere but are usually dormant or harmless to humans. If conditions are right, however, a colony of organisms can grow and become dangerous for consumption. Additionally, certain organisms can release toxins as a reaction to heat or other perceived threats. Screening all hemp products for these organisms ensures their presence is below a threshold that is safe for consumers.
